No, while it would be fun to install the real Archie software on its actual intended hardware, cost and maintenance-wise it would be less so.

Ever heard of QEMU?
Yes, of course.
Even though it could be done the way The Serial Port does it, which unfortunately no longer appears to be functioning as they had once intended.

Simply put, yes it could be done via QEMU, but is it fun? is it exciting? No.

Archie 2025
Well, I dubbed it DCon, short for Detective Conan (get it? detective? file search?)
Our Archie server software tries to emulate the real thing as closely as possible, it might deviate a bit here and there, but essentially it's fairly close.

It's cross-platform, runs on modern systems, is incredibly fast, and is under active development.
